Yorilo vs VNC apps
VNC is the open protocol behind macOS Screen Sharing and apps like Screens 5 and RealVNC Viewer. It works with almost anything. Yorilo trades that breadth for a protocol built around low-latency video.
How is Yorilo different from a VNC app?
VNC apps connect to a VNC server such as the one built into macOS, while Yorilo uses its own host app that sends hardware-encoded video. We haven't run side-by-side latency tests against VNC apps.

Is VNC slow on a Mac?
It depends on the app and network. Classic VNC sends changed regions of the screen as compressed images, which works well for static content but can lag on video, animation and high-resolution displays. Implementations differ, and modern clients use many optimizations, so results vary. Yorilo's own measurement so far is about 14–22 ms capture-to-display on a local network.
Who should choose a VNC app?
Choose VNC if you need to reach many kinds of computers, want to use the Screen Sharing server already built into macOS, or manage machines you can't install apps on.
Who should choose Yorilo?
Choose Yorilo if you control your own Mac from iPad or iPhone and care most about touch, Apple Pencil and simple setup.
Try Yorilo.
Free at home, forever. Pro, with Remote Access and every display, comes in a later update.
